Giacomo Fornasini – Mandolin/Harmonica

Born in Italy, Giacomo grew up in Maryland, where he found his passion for music in high school. Since his start with classical guitar, he’s taken a jack-of-all-trades approach to stringed instruments, picking up acoustic, 12 string guitars, and ukulele over the first years. Playing with a group of close friends while studying Mechanical Engineering at the University of Maryland, he fell in love with the richness of folk and bluegrass music and picked up the banjo, and later, the mandolin. As one of the Hideaways, he’s begun honing his skills and writing music. Aside from music, Giacomo enjoys the woods, from hiking and camping in them, to shaping them into instruments and sheds with power tools.
